Wild Parañaque spot should be cleaned up

When one goes around Parañaque, one would surely notice “Ang bagong Parañaque” plastered on lanterns, billboards, etc. It gives one a sense of hope, a sense of something better to look forward to.

But go to Baclaran, and one can readily see why it is a cause for disappointment, a failed promise. Vendors have transformed the area fronting Max’s Restaurant and its immediate vicinity into a mini Smokey Mountain. Some even “park” their kariton of commercial wares beyond the sidewalks and the service road, right on Roxas Boulevard. Day and night, this short stretch of Roxas Boulevard by the Redemptorist Church is wild territory.

I strongly urge the good mayor of Parañaque to visit the place so he can see for himself the need to institute urgent measures to clean it up and keep it clean. Right now, the place is enveloped with a nauseating smell.
