Cruz misled on HLURB

We refer to Neal Cruz’s column titled “QC gov’t illegally demolishing MSBF gardens” (Opinion, 1/24/14).

While we are not directly or indirectly concerned or involved in the subject matter of that column, we are constrained, with all due respect, to take exception to the following statement therein, that is: “And surprisingly, they (storm troopers) were also assisted by private security guards, also paid with taxpayer money, who were sent by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board.”

For the record, HLURB has never, at any time, sent any security guards to the area as was described. Hence, we believe that Cruz may have been misled or misinformed.
