Unauthorized QC dump being cleared, cleaned

This refers to a recent TV5 video of an idle lot along Congressional Avenue, Bahay Toro, Quezon City which was converted by some unscrupulous residents into a garbage dump.

Being the new Bahay Toro  punong  barangay (village) (I assumed my position only on Dec. 2, 2013), I am constrained to react to this report, which seemed to portray our barangay as a “community of trash” and convey the impression that my new administration is doing nothing to get rid of that trash.

That unauthorized dump is one of the problems my administration inherited from the last barangay administration. We are now addressing the problem by cleaning up the garbage mess. Knowing that some people have the habit of dumping their bundled garbage on

vacant lots, particularly at night, we are now posting warning signs on vacant lots to deter illegal garbage dumping.
