Chew over Ilarde’s proposals, Lacson told

/ 10:23 PM January 24, 2014

Former senator Eddie Ilarde’s commentary on evacuation shelters (“Let’s build real evacuation shelters now,” Opinion, 1/20/14) deserves serious consideration by the government. Paging former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, now the rehabilitation czar or the presidential adviser on rehabilitation. We cannot afford to dilly-dally—or say that there are no funds for the purpose. Time is of the essence.

Ilarde’s recommendations are crystal clear. They are presented in the minutest details. The commentary delivers home the urgent message: Typhoons, earthquakes and other natural calamities are becoming more furious, unpredictable and deadly. The government should act—NOW !!!

Lacson is a no-nonsense, action man. With him at the helm of the government’s rehabilitation efforts, we have high hopes that he will deliver Asap on this life-and-death situation. The Filipinos deserve no less.
