Onset of ‘directed democracy’ hit

Global Filipinos Australia deplores the postponement of the elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The decision taken speaks of a weak democracy.

Without the ratification by the ARMM constituents of the postponement of the elections, popular democracy came to an end and “directed democracy” began.

Let the right of the local people to self-rule be respected by not postponing the election. Sovereignty resides in the people through suffrage.
