Still no GSIS check, six months after claims were filed

/ 09:36 PM January 06, 2014

On June 28, 2013, we filed the claims for the survivorship and regular life benefits of our father, Government Service Insurance System member Pepito Bernal Murillon. The claims had the following reference numbers: survivorship—R-20130628-000257; regular life—R-20130628-000255.

We were told to follow-up, for check release, after 90 days, using the hotline number listed on the reference slip. This I did, but up to now our checks have not yet been released. I also posted a message on the Facebook account, GSIS Members’ Hour, hoping that this will help me bring my claims to the attention of GSIS offices concerned. There was a reply, but it did not address my concern, which led me to suspect that the Facebook account may be a hoax. So I decided to make another follow-up, but this time through the e-mail addresses [email protected] and [email protected], both of which are listed on the GSIS website.

With more than 90 days gone by since we filed our claims, we are hoping that the GSIS can now, finally, give a definite date for the release of our checks.
