Months of waiting for SSS verification

/ 02:43 AM June 25, 2011

We read with great interest Des Willdig’s letter. (“SSS count of 10 days longer than 3 months”) in the June 8 issue of the Inquirer.

We sincerely empathize with her. My wife and I, both retirees, have long requested the SSS a similar manual verification to be done on our un-posted contributions (19 months and five years of contributions, respectively) through SSS Las Piñas.

My wife’s request was dated/marked received last Oct. 15, 2009 and mine was July 30, 2010. So it has been 20 months (for my wife) and 11 months (for myself) running since we filed our requests.

We don’t really know where to go for help. We are almost at the brink of giving up. But five years of hard-earned contributions would mean a lot for us retirees with no regular monthly income to bank on anymore.

We believe we deserve something better, don’t you think so? Anyway, we wish Willdig all the luck! Perhaps leaving the country in the meantime while waiting for an answer/reply from the SSS is not such a bad idea.
