I love how Ceres Doyo wrote her article on humility (“Lessons in humility,” Opinion, 12/26/13), and I am passing it on to my children and my staff for them to read and reflect on, hoping that in so doing they will become more humble. In a way it is like a prayer. The world’s most influential drew their power from their humility—Nelson Mandela who humbly forgave those who imprisoned him, Mahatma Ghandi who never raised his voice, Mother Teresa who lived among those she served, and of course Jesus, whose birthday we again commemorated last Dec. 25—and they live forever in the hearts of many.
Thank you, Ceres, for giving a reflection piece which moved me to write this feedback, something I do not normally do.—NELLIE BALLOLA, ncballola@gmail.com
