Aquino’s focus on wrong priorities

09:01 PM December 29, 2013

Doesn’t President Aquino have anything better to do other than devote his precious time to the case of a parolee (former Batangas governor Antonio Leviste), no matter who he may be? An effective administrator would leave the matter to his subordinates who, in this case, are Justice Secretary Leila  de Lima and Board of Pardons and Parole Chair Natividad Dizon. And if he finds that he cannot trust them, he should replace them with others he can trust.

The earthquake victims of Bohol and Cebu, the refugees of the Zamboanga siege and the survivors of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” in Tacloban and Samar, who are the responsibility of Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, both of whom seem unable to cope with the situation, need his undivided attention. Get on the ball, Mr. President.
