Dasma incident: arrogance of power

This is in reaction to the news report titled “3 Dasma guards who stopped Binay convoy held, freed” (Front Page, 12/19/13).

What arrogance! Why couldn’t Makati Mayor Jun-jun Binay and Sen. Nancy Binay follow simple rules inside Dasmariñas Village which is private property?

The US ambassador to Manila, who represents the most powerful country in the world and who has diplomatic immunity, follows simple rules and regulations inside the residential villages, whether in Forbes Park where he has his residence or even in Dasmariñas Village.

The four-car convoy of Mayor Binay and Senator Binay could have just used the proper gate at Palm Avenue, only 150 meters and a one-minute car ride away.
