Do victims’ plight ever make JLN & Co. feel guilty?
I wonder if Janet Lim-Napoles and her legislator-friends ever felt guilty when they took money meant for victims of natural calamities.
Many Filipinos died and millions are suffering from the havoc that Supertyphoon “Yolanda” unleashed on the Visayas, the worst-hit of which are Leyte and Tacloban City. Most of the victims were poor; and those who survived, if they were not already so before Yolanda struck, will more likely end up in poverty.
Maybe Napoles and her rich lawmaker-friends can give back the money they allegedly stole by helping the victims. It would be a nice gesture. But chances are politicians are consumed by greed. All of them, including President Aquino, seem to be more concerned with their pork barrel than with the need to lift the quality of life of poor Filipinos.
