‘Yolanda’ survivors give thanks to C-130 pilots

/ 09:31 PM November 24, 2013

We were so lucky to get to Manila from Tacloban. We were  separated from our family there and we have found temporary refuge here. We have almost nothing left, but we will stay with some relatives until we are able to stand on our own soon.

We hope and pray that we will recover fast enough so that we will be back in Leyte again.  There is really no place like home, and we feel that Manila is already clogged up and we will be hard put finding jobs here.

We thank the pilots of the C-130s who brought us to safety. They are dedicated to their job and though obviously tired, they gave us comfort with their reassuring smiles and apparent eagerness to be of help to us. To us, those were very meaningful gestures.
