A simple call for unity

These are indeed very troubling times, with so much anger and disillusionment among us Filipinos because of corruption and the loss of public trust in our officials. There are also groups or individuals who try to fan the flames of military intervention, and the left-leaning groups probably are planning their next moves; so are the rightist groups, or even the government itself.  Hopefully nothing is “brewing” because the people are no longer smiling.

It is time therefore to be united not only as Filipinos but to be united in spirit. Quoting Romans 13:2, “Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”  These are inspiring lines that should seep into our minds and hearts.

If division reigns again in our society, there are no winners for sure.  Let us follow the rule of law and not be swayed by our emotions.
