Shift funds for planned airport to rebuild Bohol

08:00 PM October 30, 2013

The money for the construction of the proposed P7.2-billion Bohol (Panglao) International Airport will be well-spent and will be more than enough for the rehabilitation of quake-damaged Bohol. I am hoping that reasonable persons, especially the Boholanos, through their congressmen, would petition President Aquino to forego the construction of the unnecessary and expensive airport and rechannel the fund for the rehabilitation of roads, bridges, buildings and other infrastructure damaged by the Oct. 15 earthquake.

The proposed international airport is unnecessary and will surely be underutilized should it be made operational, just like the Bacolod (Silay) International Airport. Any reasonable and thinking Boholano should demand  the cancellation of this proposed international airport.
