Hopes for Zamboanga in wake of MNLF’s devastating raid

/ 10:50 PM October 18, 2013

We hope that the surrender and capture of Moro National Liberation Front’s Zamboanga “raiders” will write finis to the MNLF-Misuari faction’s violent frenzies not only in Zamboanga City but everywhere. These men, who are loyal to Nur Misuari and Habier Malik, have found it in their hearts to answer for the injury and damage they caused Zamboangueños by their senseless act.

We hope that the remaining members of the MNLF-Misuari faction will be captured or will surrender, too, so that the dark memories of the “Zamboanga siege” will be supplanted with shining hopes soon. Those who did grave harm to their fellowmen should be punished and those who may have been unaware of the real intent of their being sent to Zamboanga should be treated fairly.

We also hope that Zamboanga City will recover, physically and psychologically, from this tragic ordeal soonest.
