Wiser choices for kids

Thank you for the terrific Aug. 18 editorial “TV for kids.” It’s a wake-up call for parents not to take TV viewing for granted.

The wide availability of all forms of mass media nowadays makes it imperative for parents to become more proactive and empowered media consumers.

If we start choosing better TV shows, Internet content, films, books and magazines first and foremost, then we can help our children to make wiser choices themselves.
