Old hand welcomes more PAF jets
I was an old hand and maintenance crew in the Philippine Air Force (PAF) years back, and I felt very glad upon reading the news that it will buy two lead-in fighter jets from South Korea very soon.
As part of the PAF maintenance crew, we saw to it that everything was in order and that every PAF plane, helicopter, jet was in perfect condition for flight. It was never an easy job—for it entailed long hours of work and dedication. But we took pride in our job; it was our way of serving our country to make sure our PAF pilots and crew would be safe during flights.
So, the rest of the fighter jets are expected to come within six months, according to the PAF, and these new arrivals will surely boost our nation’s air power and enhance the safety and security of all PAF pilots who sacrifice and serve their country well—and unselfishly.
