Mayor Erap’s ‘jueteng’ justification
If Mayor Joseph Estrada justifies jueteng in Manila by the absence of alternative livelihood for those involved in its operation (Metro, 7/9/13), he might as well invoke the same justification for the video karera, fruit games, and basketball ending. He either invokes such justification for all forms of illegal gambling, or for none at all.
That is, if any form of gambling is justifiable at all.
