In the article titled “Rogues gallery of candidates” (A13, Inquirer, 5/14/13), Cipriano Violago of San Rafael, Bulacan, is listed among the “politicians charged with crimes.”
Besides the outstanding arrest warrant against him for the murder of a police officer, allow us to point out that Violago also runs an entity known as X-5 Marketing, which is facing complaints for unfair trade practices and other violations of petroleum trading laws.
The complaints are the outcomes of a previous raid carried out by a joint team of the Department of Energy, the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the LPG Marketers’ Association (LPG-MA) Party list on X-5 Marketing’s refilling station in Valenzuela City.
We are offering this information because X-5 Marketing is a member of the LPG Refillers’ Association (LPGRA), which has been throwing mud at LPG-MA through the media.
We hope this puts in perspective the negative campaigning of LPGRA, which now appears to be providing some cover to X-5 Marketing’s and Violago’s questionable activities.
