Use Senate funds for health, education, agriculture

/ 10:19 PM May 10, 2013

We have copied the republican system of government and lived with it for more than a hundred years, but our government has not changed our standard of living. Why? Because we are spending so much money on our politicians.

The money we are spending on our senators is more than enough to give our people free college education and free hospitalization; with enough to provide support for our farmers. Imagine the 24 senators receiving P200 million a year in pork barrel.

This country will be better off without our expensive Senate. A unicameral legislative will do. We must scrap the Senate and give the money we will save from its closure to the health, education, and agriculture departments.
