Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin’s statement that the Philippines will allow US forces to use Philippine territory in the event of a
Korean conflict clearly shows the kind of people President Aquino has around him. How can the President rely on a defense secretary who is either willing to violate the Constitution just to appease the United States or is simply ignorant of our basic law?
Gazmin, one of the most loyal generals of the President’s mom, is apparently an educated person, so we find no reason for his apparent ignorance of the Constitution and we are concerned that he may be giving the President wrong advice on matters of extreme implications to our national security. Knowing that Aquino heavily relies on his advisers (or his sisters), we are concerned about Gazmin being at his side at a time the President needs to make a tough decision.
