Tulfo picking on Grace

This is in reaction to Ramon Tulfo’s negative comments against senatorial candidate Grace Poe (Inquirer, 2/26/13).

I must admit I am mystified by the malevolence of the piece. I believe women in general deserve to be treated with respect. To begin with, did Poe commit a grave error or wrong another person to deserve such contempt? What does it say of a man who goes on a public tirade against a woman? More importantly, did she cause Tulfo any harm?

In an earlier column, Tulfo also remarked with obvious derision that she is an adopted child—as if this is supposed to make someone less of a person.
