Higher benefits for SSS pensioners
As a Social Security System pensioner receiving a measly sum of P1,500 a month, I fully support the appeal of Benjamin V. Estabillo to President Aquino for the increase of our emoluments (Inquirer, 2/18/13).
Particularly, I am all for the proposal of Rep. Teddy Casiño, who is running for senator, and Sen. Ralph Recto to fix the monthly pension for retired SSS members at the minimum of P5,000.
Moreover, I suggest that the burial benefits for every SSS member be increased from P20,000 to P50,000.
