THIS IS in reference to the letter sent by one of our members, Manuel M. Garrido Jr., regarding adjustment on his retirement claim.
Garrido said: “I worked in a private company from 1969 until 2008. However, the number of years of service reflected in the DDR voucher was only 33 years instead of 39. I wrote the SSS to have this corrected and then personally followed up my concern last December at SSS Taguig. However, I was only given a document endorsing my request to the SSS head office. Unfortunately, until now, my simple concern has not yet been attended to despite several follow-ups.”
Our manual computation of premium payments showed that his monthly pension adjustment amounted to P1,275 per month or a total of P48,450 from March 2008 to April 2011. Garrido’s pension will be adjusted from P8,906.25 to P10,181.25.
According to SSS Taguig, the adjustment will be posted in our database in the next few days. Once it is posted, the amount of P48,450 will be deposited to Garrido’s bank account.
