Indeed, I cannot agree more with letter writer Evelyn Tirol when she noted, among others, that: “I feel the winds of change have finally reached the venerable institution of the Government Service Insurance System: a more people-friendly and cheerful disposition as well as greater dedication to service among its employees and a more efficient system.” (Inquirer, 12/24/12)
I can personally attest to the veracity of the aforesaid statement when I applied recently for retirement pension with the GSIS branch here in Laguna. It took less than two weeks before I received my two years’ lump sum and monthly pension which was scheduled to start effective Dec. 1, 2012.
Precisely, I would like to fervently thank GSIS Laguna branch manager Celeste Ferreras, her staff particularly Pamela Umali, Ronaldo Cuevas, Enrico Torres, Eric Flores, Dona Almendras, Marvin Mercado and Alcon Kenneth P. Cuvin, office manager head.
Above all, I would also like to extend my congratulations to all of the personnel of GSIS Laguna branch whom I have found to be very prompt, friendly, dedicated and responsive as pointed out by Tirol. May their tribe multiply tenfold in our bureaucracy.
