Liwasan dishonors Bonifacio

/ 09:49 PM January 03, 2013

A COMPLETE “makeover” of Liwasang Bonifacio, in front of the Post Office Building in Manila, should be prioritized and undertaken by whoever will be the next mayor of Manila. As the city’s main entry point from the south to downtown Manila, the park, once beautified by a former mayor of Manila, is now ill-maintained, unkempt and totally neglected.

Ambulant vendors abound and form part of the landscape. The park has even been transformed into a terminal hub for UV Service Express vehicles for Parañaque-bound passengers.

What a disgrace to the memory of Gat Andres Bonifacio! Also, what a waste of Manila’s taxpayers’ money!

The incumbent mayor should have maintained the park and improved it as one of Manila’s top tourist attractions.
