PhilHealth refund in limbo since January 2012

/ 10:04 PM June 07, 2012

This is in connection with my request for the reimbursement from the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth). I am a lifetime member of the corporation with Pin No. 19-000491810-3, and with my wife, Myrna Valle-Vallarta, as my sole dependent/beneficiary.

My wife was hospitalized and confined at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City from Jan. 1 to 7, 2012. Upon her discharge from the hospital I paid all hospital charges with no Medicard deductions.

I have already written PhilHealth president Eduardo Banzon thrice—on April 10, 2012, April 24, 2012 and May 17, 2012—requesting him for the refund, but up to the present I have not been given even the courtesy of an answer.

I already filed my request for refund together with all pertinent documents, with PhilHealth regional office 4-B, duly received on Jan. 24, 2012.

I sincerely hope that PhilHealth will act fast on my request as I am badly in need of cash to buy medicines which I need because of my age. I am a senior citizen.
