Columnist Rigoberto Tiglao argued in his March 29 commentary that the impeachment case against Chief Justice Renato Corona has collapsed. That’s not surprising considering that both he and Corona benefited immensely from the corrupt Arroyo administration.
I expected Tiglao to at least take a sober view of the entire episode, having been a longtime journalist and a self-admitted former communist. His unblinking defense of the indefensible is astounding, and he chooses to ignore the pile of evidence gathered by the prosecution on Corona’s multimillion real estate properties and bank accounts groaning under the sheer weight of so many pesos and dollars.
I beg to disagree with Tiglao: the case against Corona has not collapsed but has even been strengthened. And Corona’s dollar accounts haven’t been fully revealed yet.
Tiglao is so out of touch with reality that he defends Corona to the hilt.
