Belied allegation

09:37 PM April 11, 2012

This refers to news reports wherein I was mentioned by lawyer Ramon Esguerra, defense counsel in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona, purportedly for saying I disagreed with the issuance of the notice of disallowance on the sale of the property of the Basa-Guidote Enterprises Inc. to Manila, saying “COA has no power to issue the ND [notice of disallowance].  COA has no power even to rescind the deed of sale.”

I categorically deny having made these statements to Esguerra.  I do not know him personally nor any of the other lawyers of the defense, nor have I talked to any of them or to any member of the media, on the matter.
