Poor enforcement of laws on handicapped

/ 09:24 PM March 27, 2012

I agree completely with Shirley de las Alas regarding the poor enforcement of laws providing specific privileges for the elderly and handicapped. (“Heed that sign!”, Inquirer, 3/18/12) For example, elevators are always full of able-bodied people, while the truly handicapped are made to wait for two or three trips before they can get a ride.

I was disabled with a sports injury only for two months. I can only imagine the plight of the elderly and handicapped. We need to educate the public—and school children—regarding this matter.
