Rotten justice system ‘crown prince’

To President Aquino’s question, “Can we trust Corona?” my answer is a resounding “No.”

I’ve been following the ongoing impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona and after hearing testimonies that he owns so many pieces of real property and fat bank accounts, my conclusion is that he truly deserves to be removed from his high perch for rank dishonesty.

I cannot place my trust on a chief justice who apparently amassed vast wealth running into millions and millions of pesos with a mere salary of more or less P600,000 a year. So where did he get the P36 million he hastily withdrew on the eve of his impeachment on Dec. 12 last year?  President Aquino is right: We need a new chief justice who is the epitome of the straight and narrow, not a crown prince of all that is rotten and evil in our judicial system.
