Conferment of CES eligibility last Oct. 11, not exam

This is to clarify the news article titled “22 gov’t employees pass career exams.” (Inquirer, 11/6/11)

• The Career Executive Service Board (CESB) did not conduct any examination last Oct. 11, 2011.

• The first CES written examination given by CESB for 2011 was on March 27, 2011 and was administered in three testing centers, namely: Metro Manila, Cebu City and Davao City. For 2010, the schedule of examinations was as follows: Jan. 29, 2010, March 26, 2010, June 6, 2010, Aug. 29, 2010, Oct. 30, 2010, Dec. 12, 2010.

• The 22 officials referred to in the first paragraph belong to different batches of examinees. They passed the four-stage examination process and were conferred CES eligibility by the board on Oct. 11, 2011, through CESB Resolution No. 968.

Please note further that the information on the Nov. 6, 2011 issue of the Inquirer concerning the 22 officials was not provided by the CESB and no interview was made by the Inquirer with any of the officials and staff of the CESB regarding the news article.

To date, there are 427 officials who have been conferred CES eligibility by the board since President Aquino assumed office on July 1, 2010.
