Miss Universe Asia: PH bet deserves title

The Miss Universe 2024 edition was truly historic, with over a hundred contestants competing, as well as the groundbreaking introduction of four continental queens.

Our representative, Chelsea Manalo, was selected as the continental winner for Asia. As of this writing, however, it is not clear to me how the organization arrived at this result.

Some pageant fans may have thought that the “Miss Universe Asia” title awarded to Manalo was a conciliatory gesture, given that she failed to advance to the Top 12.

As a pageant fan, I prefer to believe that the title was not simply an attempt to ease the weight of disappointment among fans, especially Filipino supporters, but rather that Manalo genuinely deserved the recognition, thanks to her unwavering dedication, multicultural background, calm demeanor, and definitely her captivating beauty.
