A Lenten reflection on sublime contentment

The havoc on people’s lives brought about by human greed in all its forms could block the blessings and mercies from God, who can will drought and floods that leave devastation in their wake. But God, the Creator of heaven and earth, also brings us sunrise that softly caresses nature and brings it to blossom. Many of these happen in our lifetime so we need to pause and be still … and know who God is.

Here’s a Lenten reflection on having sublime contentment: “And then he prayed, ‘God, I’m asking for two things before I die; don’t refuse me. Banish lies from my lips and liars from my presence. Give me enough food to live on, neither too much nor too little. If I’m too full, I might get independent, saying, ‘God? who needs him?’ If I’m poor I might steal and dishonor the name of my God” (Proverbs 30:7-9).
