A salient reminder on Teachers’ Day

I agree with Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement reminding us of the indispensable role teachers play in our lives and in our future (“Teachers are builders of dreams—VP Sara Duterte,” Inquirer.net, 9/5/23).

Imagine, where would we be without them?

We celebrate World Teachers’ Day today. Aside from being a day of celebration, it is also a salient reminder for all of us that we would not be the people we are today if not for our teacher’s relentless effort in teaching us valuable lessons in life.

There would be no doctors, lawyers, engineers, journalists, or even teachers—the list goes on—if not for them guiding us, challenging us, and drilling us into the realities of the world.

Indeed, it can be said that our future lies in our teachers, and so they deserve to be recognized in the best way possible, just like today.
