This is in connection with the article by Mr. Kurt Dela Peña, “Road rage: Deadly encounters that can be avoided,” (Inquirer.net, 8/29/23).
The writer has made a number of suggestions on how to avoid road rage which has proved deadly in this country. We agree with him.
In this country, where even those who just learned how to drive motor vehicles without attending driving schools and thus ignorant of even the basic road courtesy, and hotheaded and impatient motorists are aplenty. They were able to possess driving licenses with the aid of corrupt officials of government agencies which issue them.
In the face of this sad reality, the best way to avoid road rage is to observe road courtesy. By being courteous at all times anywhere, one has nothing to lose.
