Does PDI have a soft spot for Roberto Ongpin?

/ 08:40 PM October 23, 2011

I have noticed that the Inquirer seems to be giving too much prominence to the developments in the ongoing inquiry into the purportedly “behest DBP (Development Bank of the Philippines) loan” and “insider trading” involving businessman Roberto Ongpin.

In fact, sometimes I even imagine that the Inquirer is just providing Ongpin with a venue to air his side.  I hope this soft spot the Inquirer has for Ongpin is not because of a certain person who referred to Ongpin as “my boss” in one of his recent TV interviews?
