‘V’ masks meant for Anonymous

The caption for the photo where people, inspired by the movie “V for Vendetta,”  wear masks (Inquirer, 10/17/11) is not entirely correct.

The masks may have been inspired by the film, but the protesters chose to wear them as a show of support for Anonymous, a hacker group that supports the Occupy Wall Street  protest. They reportedly threatened to bring down the New York Stock Exchange website last Monday, though the threat never materialized. The video broadcasts of the Anonymous group features a person wearing a mask of a similar design.
