It was satisfying to know that numerous winners (433 bettors) shared the jackpot of lotto 6/55 drawn last Oct.1. The amazing thing was that the number of first prize winners surpassed the second prize winners (331 bettors). I guess I should revisit the mathematical probability theory/Pascal and De Fermat for understanding and explanation.
I am happy simply because more winners will benefit instead of one to four winners. More winners assure that the money will recirculate to the economy quickly thereby contributing to the dynamism of the economy or, by statistics, a number of them will venture into business thus creating jobs.
May I suggest that we give a ceiling for the jackpot prize, say P100 million limit for 6/55? If it reaches this prize and nobody wins, I recommend that it will be divided equally among those who hit the five numbers out of six drawn numbers, thereby assuring many winners.
