The nation suffered through a Lent like no other under Ferdinand Marcos Sr. Just the thought of putting up with another Marcos is punishment enough. The reality would be crucifixion without resurrection. Do we not hear history shouting its lessons from the streets? Perhaps. there is possible redemption if we look at Putin. The whole world and the United Nations cannot burst his bubble, locked in aspirations for his people who don’t want any of it. A second chance at democracy for us before it’s too late?
