For Ombudsman staffers values orientation a must

/ 03:04 AM October 10, 2011

The appointment of former Supreme Court Justice Conchita Carpio Morales as Ombudsman was a welcome development in the crusade of the present government to eradicate graft and corruption in the bureaucracy.

However, the men and women of the Office of the Ombudsman should undergo an honest-to-goodness value orientation seminar. It may be recalled that at the time Gutierrez was being beleaguered by calls for her to resign, a streamer was hung in front of the Ombudsman building, affirming the employees’ trust in and solidarity with Gutierrez.
