More power to Ramon J. Farolan for his untiring research into the significant heroism of unsung wartime hero Col. Jose A. Arambulo, Gold Cross Awardee (12/6/21), which merits recognition and emulation by the Filipino people.
The Gold Cross award is one of the highest medals for acts of valor in the line of duty. Col. Jose A. Arambulo, the commander of the First Battalion, Second Constabulary Regiment, and his men courageously blocked the entry of Japanese forces into Tayabas, Quezon, from Dec. 1 to Dec. 29, 1941. He was one of the first awardees of the Gold Cross Medal during the Pacific war.
Farolan, a PMA graduate and distinguished retired military officer, has enlightened his readers with commentaries on the lives of military leaders and personnel worth knowing by the public, to inspire and encourage citizens, and to highlight such figures’ courage, demeanor, and leadership styles.
For love of country and the care and welfare of our people especially at this time of the pandemic, incoming elected leaders of the May 2022 elections must prepare programs and projects to instill and implant in our youthful population the ardent and committed desire to serve people and country in times of peace and adversity.
