In May 2022, let us choose wisely

One of the largest trees in the world, the barrel-shaped baobab is native to tropical Africa. It grows to a height of 40 to 60 feet, its trunk sometimes attaining a massive girth of 30 feet, and its branches spreading 30 feet beyond the trunk itself. Growing very slowly, baobabs can live to be 5,000 years old.

Our country is under serious threat from deeply entrenched baobab trees of corruption and mediocrity. We must look to the May 2022 national elections as no less than a holy war we must wage to rid ourselves of these baobab trees and the monkeys living, thriving, and conducting business among their overarching branches. We must do our best to weed out the seeds of corruption that infest and suffocate our land. Left unchecked, these bastard seeds will grow to be the very tall trees from whose branches we will one day be hung and strung.

The troop of monkeys now swinging madly and maniacally before us to get our attention and our votes defy all rhyme and reason. But all we have to do is to choose what is right, before there is nothing left. Choose those who are true, good, and correct. Choose the least tainted or dirty among all the candidates, someone whose track record shows that that person is capable of being good and doing good, someone who can take us out of this vale of tears and bring us to that happy land promised us by God.

We must strive to rise above the morass of surrender and hopelessness we’re stuck in, for the sake of our country and our planet. We must choose wisely and well.
