COVID-19 should remain priority ahead of 2022 polls

Next year’s election is not that far-off, and some of our leaders who have their eye on it are starting to make “fault-finding” as a default position to gain political mileage. We expect their many and varied political dramas to flood our social media until 2022.

As a consequence, the COVID-19 issue may take a backseat; worse, it may no longer be in our headlines. Our national priority should still be to save as many lives and many jobs as possible, and to restart the economy.

Finding solutions to cushion the negative impact of COVID-19 must be our highest priority, and not engaging in political grandstanding ahead of the 2022 elections.
