The human rights lawyer who abandoned his principles

Roque should be disbarred, that is the urgent message of George del Mar (7/19/21). And may I add, expel him from the UP College Of Law Alumni Association.

On second thought, I think disbarment will not stop the man from making shameless pronouncements. Even if disbarred, Roque can easily worm his way back into the offices of “trapos” as legal counsel or consultant .

The best punishment for Roque is to strip him of his Filipino citizenship for his pronouncements that have endangered national security, encouraged China to violate national sovereignty with impunity leading to the destruction of our marine resources in the West Philippine Sea, and emboldened Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian to scoff at the Arbitral Award as some damn waste paper.

To make sure that Harry Roque is remembered as a human rights lawyer who abandoned his principles to be the spokesperson of China, his name must be etched in the pages of history books alongside the likes of Pedro Paterno,
