Please let me share my recent COVID-19 experience. My wife of 47 years experienced breathlessness and loss of taste and smell. It was confirmed to be COVID-19 in a swab test last Jan. 29 when we hospitalized her.
She took a lot of medications and medical procedures (the hardest was the invasive intubation)—and she got better. But, if things could go wrong, they would. Being a 72-year-old diabetic, she had a heart attack as a complication of diabetes, and died last Feb. 13. She was cremated within 24 hours in compliance with health protocols.
Getting documents for the interment of her cremains was a breeze at the Las Piñas local government. At the office of Barangay Pamplona Tres, however, getting myself a swab test as well as the result, and having my residence demisted, was a tsubibo ride. Pinaikot-ikot ako!
