Vote wisely? Schools should offer voter education course

This is a rejoinder to the letter, “When will Filipinos vote wisely?” (8/10/20) from Joseph Roman G. Aragones.

My answer is — teach them how, in our schools no less. A subject that should be mandatory in private and public elementary and high schools should be taught on how to evaluate the candidates, especially those running for president. The Department of Education should see to it that the course content is free of bias.

We know by experience the disaster we will be in if we elect the wrong candidate, especially for the presidency. He or she is the most important person in the country, and the decisions the president makes can make or break us. Look at all the wasted years and resources that befell the Philippines for having chosen the wrong leader.

Electing the best candidate for president is the best investment the electorate can make for the country.
