The political immaturity of our congressmen

1

The recess of the House of Representatives earlier than scheduled has a double impact on ordinary Juans and Juanas.

For Alan Peter Cayetano’s camp, it was a show of force to undermine the opposing force of Lord Allan Jay Velasco. But, to the contrary, this only shows how untrustworthy our politicians are. We deserve more than this.

The fear of losing huge budget allocations versus honoring a gentleman’s agreement could not be beneficial to our politics in any way. We must practice political maturity and develop political ethics. Even if administration leaders possess the majority and railroad the laws of this land, history would eventually judge such decisions to be politically immature.

We need not count 400 years in our history to be mature.
