Gov’t should adopt protocol for homeopathic medicine
We strongly urge the Department of Health and officials of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to approve and adopt the protocol for compassionate use of homeopathic medicine.
Medical doctors from the Philippine College of Integrative Medicine and Homotoxicology submitted the proposal to the Food and Drug Administration a few months ago upon the recommendation of DOH-Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care director general Annabelle Pabiona de Guzman, M.D.
The nation is practically on bended knees as we continue to suffer unquantifiable losses in lives, jobs, businesses, and other economic opportunities. Filipino families have suffered long enough—six months of despicable, albeit highly essential, community quarantines. Meanwhile, government coffers are near critical levels as COVID-19 cases continue to pile up, and the “flattening the curve” global narrative still remains an elusive dream for the Philippines.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Constitution mandates the state to “protect and promote the right to health of the people and instill health consciousness among them,” which is especially needed in this time of public health emergency. Government officials, therefore, have the sworn duty to implement this specific human rights provision as enshrined in the highest law of the country.
