SIngle bus route: Good on paper, not in practice

I refer to the report, “Single Edsa bus route planned,” (News, 5/11/2020).

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board should state clearly what would improve with “dedicated and non-overlapping” routes. How does faster turnaround of buses at the end of the trip benefit the commuters?

Anyone who does not live within walking distance of Edsa would need to make at least one transfer. This would mean that any trip that begins and ends outside Edsa would entail two transfers, if not more.

On paper it may look good, but in practice does it really improve the commuters’ travel time?

What about fare? Would this proposed policy change cost the commuters more?
